Welcome to Poly Chic
My name is Karen Omodt, I live in Georgetown, Texas. I created this site to share my polymer clay wearable art and to share polymer clay tips and tutorials, I have learned while working with this medium.
I picked up my first piece of polymer clay December 2001, after watching the Carol Duval Show and seeing polymer clay artists like Barbara McGuire, Donna Kato, Maureen Carlson, etc. working with polymer clay.
I went to my first polymer clay conference - Ravensdale August, 2003. Ravensdale was held at Trinity Lutheran College, Issaquah, WA. I met Donna Kato, Barbara McGuire,Gwen Gibson, Marie Segal, Lisa Pavelka, Petra, Sarah Shriver, Jeff Dever, Dan Cromier, and many other polymer clay artists. I spent the entire week drooling over all of the polymer clay art and jewelry on display.
The National Polymer Clay Guild is hosting The Evolution of Polymer Clay (EoPC), August 8-15, 2004, in San Diego. I am hoping I will be able to attend.
I am a member of the National Polymer Clay Guild (NPCG) and I belong locally to the Austin Polymer Clay Guild (APCG) Austin, Texas. If your in the Austin area or live in the surrounding area and would like to attend a guild meeting; the APCG meets the first Saturday at 2:00 pm, Ralph Yarborough Library (Burnet Rd. and Hancock Dr.).
I learned HTML by taking classes at Web Tech U. They offer "free online" individual; HTML and PSP Classes. If you have wanted to learn HTML,then check out Web Tech U.
I bought Paint Shop Pro (PSP 8) graphics program and to learn PSP 8, I am taking online classes from Patti at Moons Designs. If your interested in learning PSP 8, I highly recommend taking Patti's classes.
If you have any questions or comments about my site or polymer clay, please email me Karen Omodt.
